Ladies and Gentlemen, May I simply say all protocols observed.

l Good morning. As you might be aware, In May of this year Lafarge Zambia successfully held its 6 edition of the Lafarge Lusaka Marathon in association with the Zambia Amateur Athletic Association of Zambia (ZAAA). With the support of some of our main sponsors here today, this year’s marathon saw over 3,000 participants from 16 countries around the world. In addition, the marathon focuses on promoting wellness and social cohesion as well as supporting the spirit of marathon running in our country.

l Today, is particularly exciting as it demonstrates Lafarge Zambia’s unwavering commitment to sustainability development through the marathon; by ensuring shared value within our communities around us. The Lafarge Lusaka Marathon therefore, is a fundraising initiative that Lafarge Zambia channels towards supporting the Lafarge Foundation.

l Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, the continued co-operation and support by you our partners in ensuring that the marathon is a success is highly appreciated. Without adequate human, technical and financial support in this area, the vision to support needy institutions would not be possible. I believe this gesture will not only change the lives of our mothers and our youth but more so contribute to the developmental agenda in Zambia and subsequently translate into a healthier and stronger nation.

l Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the Lafarge Lusaka marathon 2019 managed to generate through the participation of over 3 thousand the sum of 192, 000 kwacha of which we will distribute to the institutions supported by the Lafarge Foundation as follows;
